Gas pains

The Rs clearly think gas prices, are going to be one of their big issues come fall, and they’re working hard on message strategy.

This is one of many issues where facts don’t always make much difference, but note the chart above. Gasoline prices were actually higher in mid-2008, when somebody else was president.

Meanwhile, as people continue to complain, Adam Davidson, of NYT and Planet Money, notes nobody's being very frugal.

As we used to say in the 60s, if you’re not part of the solution, you’re part of the problem.

    I suspect Obama’s move to eliminate oil company tax subsidies could be part of the problem. High gas prices could scuttle his reelection bid. Any of the GOP clowns would probably promote more give aways to oil corporations.
