Sometime this month, the Earth’s population will pass 7 billion. We passed the 1 billion mark about 1810. We 2 billion around 1929. By 2000, there were more than 6 billion of us. You can see the trend.
Beyond the threshold questions like “How do we feed everyone?” this demographic avalanche is going to challenge our capacity to change in just about every area of human endeavor.
