I’ve had lots of reasons to criticize some of AP’s reporting over the last several years, but they’ve done themselves proud with this package of vignettes about Americans in poverty.
In DC, where I work, most of the talk about poverty is about numbers, budgets, programs. You don’t see much in the way of people. Perhaps that explains the huge disconnect between what they talk about here and what’s going on everywhere else.
Imagine if Congress had more poor people in it.
